Avocado Fries! If you’re a sucker for avocados, here’s a recipe you might be interested in! Stay health conscious while at the same time switching up your diet with a little variety!

This little number has been going around, and let me say: I am DROOLING! A healthier recipe option is at the bottom. You could also up the health factor by experimenting with almond flour/meal instead of bread crumbs or flour.

Avocado Fries
Printable Recipe Adapted from Sunset Magazine via Circle B Kitchen
All you need:
Canola oil for frying
1/4 cup flour
1 tsp kosher salt
2 large eggs, beaten to blend
1 1/4 cups panko (Japanese bread crumbs)
2 firm-ripe medium avocados, pitted, peeled, and sliced into 1/2-in. wedges
Grated parmesan for serving (optional) MR NOTE: NOT OPTIONAL
Simply:
 1. Preheat oven to 200°. In a medium saucepan, heat 1 1/2 in. oil until it registers 375° on a deep-fry thermometer.
2. Meanwhile, mix flour with 1/2 tsp. salt in a shallow plate. Put eggs and panko in separate shallow plates.
3. Sprinkle the avocado slices with the remaining ½ tsp salt.   Dip each slice in flour, shaking off excess. Dip in egg, then panko to  coat. Set on 2 plates in a single layer.
3. Fry a quarter of avocado slices at a time until deep golden,  30 to 60 seconds. Transfer slices to a plate lined with paper towels.  Keep warm in oven while cooking remaining avocados. Sprinkle with salt  and a little grated parmesan.

Spread on a   cooling rack that has been sprayed with non-stick spray, then place on a   cookie sheet.  Spray the top of the wedges with olive oil and sprinkle   with salt, then bake for about 20 minutes at 450, or until they are   golden brown (I turned my oven up to 500 for the last 5 minutes).

Purpose

As previously stated in the brief summary in the top left corner, the purpose of this site is to provide additional resources on the subjects of health and fitness. Although all the information we could ever want and need to know regarding fitness and health is out there, my personal purpose in creating this site is of many reasons. 

Through my creating this blog, I hope to personally reach out to those I know and spread the information that I deem most helpful to those in the similar environment and predicament as I am in. In writing this blog I am also helping myself through helping you. Through this, I am able expose you to all of the good-to-know tips and valuable information regarding health and fitness while at the same time educating myself and furthermore encouraging myself to put this information to good use. Let’s be honest, we all know what’s good and bad for us…but sometimes we need those extra reminders and facts just to keep us on track. So I hope to do just that for you for!

In addition, I have come to a point in my life where I have chosen to make a life-changing decision in regards to my personal health. I have only shared this information with particular people whom I am close to — and as of right now, I will not be disclosing that personal information until I feel ready to do so on a public level. However in making this decision, it has opened my eyes to a new way of thinking. Now more than ever, I am extremely conscious of my physical health and have developed newfound respect for the body in which I reside in.

What I want my fellow followers to gain from my blog is a new way of thinking when it comes to their personal health. Not only do I want them to gain a new perspective but also to really focus on making those lifestyle changes I will be encouraging. I hope to not only expose you to this information, but to help you impose it as well.
